14 days / 13 nights tour - Itinerary

Day 1 •
Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) – Amman

Your driver will meet you at Queen Alia International Airport or your arrival point.

We then drive to Amman (40 minute drive) for an overnight.

Day 2 •
Amman (City Tour) – Jerash – Amman

We will start with a city tour of Amman, including a visit to the Citadel,and it's Archaelogical Museum, the Roman theatre and Folklore Museum, souks and modern city.

Afterwards we will drive north of Jordan (1 hour drive) to visit Jerash, a large and well-preserved site of Roman architecture. Its colonnaded streets, baths, theatres, plazas and arches remain in exceptional condition.

In the afternoon drive back to Amman (1hour drive) for an overnight.

Day 3 •
Amman - Desert Castles (Amra, Kharranah) – Azraq – Amman

Qasr Amra

This morning drive east of Amman (1½ hour drive) to visit the "Desert Castles" (8th Century Umayyad hunting lodges) of Qasr Amra (a UNESCO World Heritage site) and Qasr Kharanah.

Continue on to Azraq to tour its Roman and medieval Islamic fortress, later used as a winter headquarters during the Arab Revolt of the early 20th Century. Also visit the Azraq Wetland Reserve.

Return to Amman for overnight.

Day 4 •
Amman – Umm Qais – Pella – Dead Sea

Today we drive north (2 hour drive) to Umm Qais, situated 110 km north of Amman with a magnificent view over the Yarmouk River, the Golan Heights, and Lake Tiberias. This town was known as Gadara, one of the most brilliant ancient Greco-Roman cities of the Decapolis made of black basalt.

From Umm Qais visit Pella (1 hour drive) a favourite site for archaeologists - it is exceptionally rich in antiquities, some of which are exceedingly old. Known in Arabic as Tabeqat Fahl; set on hill.

In the afternoon descend to the Dead Sea (2 hours), the lowest point on the earth's surface for an overnight.

Day 5 •
Dead Sea


Breakfast at your hotel.

Today is free to relax and enjoy the hotel's pool and beach facilities, or try a pampering treatment in the Spa.

Day 6 •
Dead Sea – Mt. Nebo – Madaba – Umm al Rasas – Shobak – Petra

This morning we will drive to Mt. Nebo (40 minute drive), from where Moses viewed the Holy Land. Weather permitting it is possible to see the Mt. of Olives, Jericho and the roofs of Jerusalem, continue on to Madaba (15 minute drive), "City of Mosaics" to visit St. George church where you can admire the famous 6th Century mosaic map of the Holy Land as well as numerous restored Byzantine and Herodian Mosaics in the Madaba Archaeological Park, Churches and Madaba Museum.

Drive to Umm al Rasas (40 minute drive) which was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2004, full of ruins from the Roman, Byzantine, and early Muslim civilizations and superb mosaics. The majority of the site has not been excavated.

We then continue to visit Shobak Crusader Castle (2 hour drive), then onto Petra (30 minute drive) for an overnight.

Day 7 •

You will have a 3 hour morning private guided tour in Petra.  Walk the 700 m along the Bab el Siq - passing the Obelisks Tomb until you reach the entrance to the Siq. This 1200m natural gorge is an impressive experience and beautiful way to enter the city. At the end of the Siq you will see the Spectacular Treasury (El Khazneh). The tour continues down the Street of Facades to the roman style NabateanTheatre and then you will have a fabulous view of the Royal Tombs and continue down the Roman Street and the end of your tour. 

After which the rest of the day is yours to explore more of the city - maybe The Monastery "Ad Deir" (900 steps).

Walk back to your hotel for an overnight.

Day 8 •

Monastry Petra

Breakfast at your hotel.

Today is free to relax or enjoy an individual second visit to the city of Petra where you can maybe climb up to the Place of High Sacrifice.

Day 9 •
Petra – Little Petra – Wadi Rum

In the morning visit Siq al Barid ("Little Petra"), which was the main Nabatean caravanserai outside the confines of the city of Petra.

Then we will drive south (2 hour drive) for a 4 hours jeep tour and a 1 hour camel ride in Wadi Rum, also known as The Valley of the Moon, which is a valley cut into the sandstone and granite rock in southern Jordan. Wadi Rum was described by T. E. Lawrence, as "Vast, echoing and God-like".

Dinner and overnight at a fixed camp, the right place to admire the stunning night sky of Wadi Rum.

Day 10 •
Wadi Rum - Aqaba

Breakfast at your campsite.

Then you will be driven to Aqaba (1 hour drive) and check in to your hotel for a free afternoon and overnight in Aqaba to enjoy the Red Sea.

Day 11 •

Enjoy a free day to relax or try one of the Red Sea activities (not included), overnight in Aqaba.

Day 12 •

Aqaba – Amman

Breakfast at your hotel.

Free morning in Aqaba, afternoon transfer to Amman (4 hour drive) for an overnight.

Day 14 •
Amman – Queen Alia International Airport

Breakfast at your hotel.

Transfer to Queen Alia International Airport (1 hour drive) depending on your flight schedule for departure.
